Treat it Like a Business, because it IS

As a professional networker, I value my time more than anything else.  If there is one thing that burns me more it is people who say “yes” to the business and then don’t treat it like one.

MLM aka Network Marketing IS a Business and it requires the same dedication as if you were spending millions of dollars to start any other kind of business.  Of course, in network marketing you can get started for under $100. and so it seems some people don’t take it seriously.  That’s sad, because it is one of the greatest wealth opportunities available to anyone that could literally make you an MLM – Network Marketing fortune, like it has for me. The Pain and Pleasure of MLM Prospecting

Have you ever procrastinated?

Yes? Good. (I was afraid I was the only one.)

So why do you think you and I do that?

I think I know — we procrastinate because we associate more pain with the process of doing than we do pleasure from achieving the result.  Maybe you put off cleaning out the garage, because you perceived a greater pleasure in watching a football game. Or perhaps you procrastinated for so long that it eventually became easier — less painful — to just take action and complete the task. For example, if it takes a half an hour every time you try to find something in the garage and your spouse is constantly on your back about getting it straightened up, the thought of not cleaning the garage is probably more painful than actually cleaning it.  We mostly act on our emotions and then rationalize our actions with logic and thought.

Didn’t you fall in love with your car and then rationalize how you could stretch to pay for it? Did you do the same thing with your house? You fell in love with it and then rationalized how you would pay for it, or figured out a way to fix it up. The
controlling force in our lives is almost always pain or pleasure.

Before we take a look at how this applies to Network Marketing, here is another illustration of the point: Have you Read the rest of this entry »

Happy New Year 2008!

Happy New Year, this post is going to focus on Network Marketing with an Internet Focus for 2008.

Here are five things you should be aware of in 2008 to capitalize on as much MLM profit as you can:

  • The internet market is huge. But YOUR market is actually very small. In general, all niche markets on the internet are very competitive. New marketers are popping out like mushrooms with amazing products to be offered and they’ll win the game.  You’ll need to brand yourself in your market because it will be the same JV partners, forums, search engine rankings, etc that your competitor will go after.

What’s unique about you?  In other words, if your MLM product is going to help someone get healthier, why would they buy from you when there are 101 products out there, doing or saying the same thing? Go figure and you’ll be rich. Read the rest of this entry »
